Summary I am a chartered health and safety professional with over 10 years experience. I started my educational path with the Certificate in Safety and Health at Work in University College Dublin in 1999 and graduated from the Diploma in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work from University College Cork. In the interests of continuing professional development, I undertook, the Higher Diploma in Learning, Development and Work Based Training which I graduated from at the end of 2009 and currently am awaiting results from a Diploma in Environmental Science and Social Policy, again taken from UCC. I am a Qualified Manual Handling Instructor, Abrasive Wheels Instructor and also deliver lectures for the Construction Industry Federation on Fire Safety and Health Matters in the construction industry. I can deliver Fire Extinguisher and Fire Marshall training as well. I was recently elected as Chairperson of the IOSH Ireland Fire Risk Management Section and as a member of the IOSH Ireland Branch Executive Committee. I have also been appointed as the IOSH Ireland Branch Educational Advisor and a mentor to assist members of IOSH to progress towards chartered status. I routinely attend CPD events to keep my knowledge base up to date and network with fellow professionals here and abroad to assist in resolving issues they may have and seek assistance in turn from them, when I need to resolve an issue, that I may need further information on.
