Application Support Engineer - French or German - up to €40,000 per year plus benefits package
A role of Application Support Engineer exists in the Global Customer Support organization within a thriving international software company headquartered in Ireland. You will be expected to have strong technical support experience to take responsibility for the delivery of support to our rapidly expanding customer base.
Reporting to the Customer Support Manager, this role requires the successful candidate to quickly gain an understanding of the product architecture. The candidate must analyze and respond to incoming support tickets, ensuring that a high quality service is delivered to customers and adherence to strict SLAs in a 24x7 operational support environment is met.
Key areas of Responsibility
o Primary responsibility for the provision of technical support to German speaking customers.
o Responsible for the provision of technical support to customers around the globe.
o Provision of support to our customers for their production environments.
o Investigation and diagnosis of problems with our core applications
o Take ownership for customer support issues and push them to resolution.
o Liaise with customers to inform of progress, request information, manage expectations and close out issues.
o Log, track and update tickets in our issue tracking system
o Ensure that procedures are followed so that customer implementations are handed over to Customer Support from Professional Services
o Be a significant contributor to our knowledge base/FAQ
o Maintain and manage customer test environments for problem replication
Job Requirements
o Troubleshoot J2EE application issues
o Familiarity with the structure of J2EE web applications, application server and database
o End to end experience in the support of web-based applications
o Good written and verbal communication skills. Second language a plus.
o Experience of providing direct support to external customers
o Strong experience of working with and resolving challenging technical support issues
o Excellent organizational and time management skills
o Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints
o Experience of Financial Services industry from previous roles would be a distinct advantage.

o 2+ years experience working in a customer support environment
o Ability to be able to set and manage customer expectations
o Java/J2EE
o Good skill in any one of the following: Websphere, Weblogic
o Oracle
o Unix, Linux or AIX
o XML
o Fluent in English and German
o Ability to juggle conflicting priorities and demands on time.
