Our client an International Consulting Engineering Company are seeking to recruit experienced Environmental Geoscientists for international roles.

Main Function: To fulfil a leadership role in mining environmental projects including environmental permitting, providing environmental support to engineering design from concept studies to construction and interface between both.
This would include but not be limited to:
- Engagement with colleagues locally and globally;
- Management of small project teams or a group of specialists within a project;
- Analysis of client issues, identification of appropriate solutions and development of plans or strategies to implement solutions;
- Working on Hatch projects and developing environmental management plans through the Hatch Project Lifecycle Process;
- Preparing and co-ordinating the environmental, social and SD inputs required for mine exploration and mine development, including ESIAs and permitting, through the project life cycle;
- Preparing mine closure plans;
- Guiding and mentoring less experienced ESG staff;
- Report writing;
- Quality control;
- Engagement with clients;
- Development of proposals and project budgets.
Core Competencies
Essential
Qualifications:
- Four year degree in environmental science, engineering or equivalent;
- Registration as a professional Geoscientist.
Expertise:
- Sustainable development;
- An excellent understanding of policy and the legislative framework regarding the environment;
- Environmental studies and processes required to deliver projects from concept study to construction;
- Environmental permitting processes related to mining and exploration including EIAs;
- Preparation of mine closure plans;
- Well organized, able to manage, plan and prioritize;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Excellent report writing skills;
- Ability to work both independently and in teams.
Experience:
- Permitting processes for exploration and mining including EIAs;
- Mine closure planning and cost estimating;
- Environmental management on projects, especially EPCM projects and studies in the mining sector;
- Minimum 10 years work experience;
- Track record of relevant work in the mining sectors with major mining companies in several countries.
Desirable
Qualifications:
- Relevant postgraduate degree.
Expertise:
- Integrated Environmental Management;
- Good knowledge of engineering processes and EPCM;
- 1 foreign language in addition to English.
