Planning/Buying interim management support
12 month temporary contract.
Background
My client are going through an exciting phase of expansion and undertaking a number of projects as a result. They are currently seeking a Planner/Buyer to work alongside an incumbent Planner/Buyer, to assist with an increased level of work.
- Liaise with internal customers to prepare weekly Production, Shipping & Packaging Schedules and issue to the plant.
- Provide the main driving focus for Operations Team in terms of Production / Shipping/ Packaging & Operations Team goals as well as being a key team member.
- Prepare on an annual basis a Long Range Plan (5yrs) by product / multi customer.
- Obtain & analyse forecast data from customers. Process in a timely manner & question any deviations from current trends to ensure complete accuracy of numbers.
- Prepare Production & Inventory Plans based on above forecast data taking into consideration current capacity availability (people / machines), STR requirements, expected Customer Service Levels and validation needs.
- Create Procurement schedules for raw materials, finishing supplies and packaging components using MAPS.
- Execute these Procurement schedules & raise PO's with vendors based on agreed prices / delivery dates.
- Monitor production performance weekly & realign production based on this performance data. Report major variances accordingly.
- Monitor inventory levels monthly. Report any deviation from plan and implement corrective actions where applicable.
- Maximise service to external customers ensuring all orders are supplied on time in order to avoid stockout.
- Ensure smooth transition of supply from Contract Manufacturing to Dublin and work with QO re Regulatory approvals for over 50 countries.
- Prepare monthly Customer Service, Supply & Inventory valuation reports.
- Co-ordinate the launch of new products/ presentations in the plant from item setup to shipment of first batch to customer. Work with QO re artwork changes.
